Change your Question

These past two weeks I have been reading the book, Change Your Questions, Change Your Life by Wendy Watson Nelson. If you want a book to make you think and reflect, this is the book for you. I have done a lot of soul searching and writing my thoughts and feeling down as I've explored the thought provoking questions she presents in this book. It has truly made me look at the questions I have been asking. At one point she encourages us to read Alma 5 and think about the questions he asks. There was one verse that really made me stop and think. 19: I say unto you, can ye look up to God at that day with a pure heart and clean hands? I say unto you, can you look up, having the ^aimage of God engraven upon your countenances? Just thinking about that one little question as made me stop and think before I say or do anything. What does the word engraven mean to you? How can we have the image of God engraven upon our countenances? I love to read and look at other people's blogs. One of my favorite blogs is Tracy Bassett's. http://bassettsbull.blogspot.com/ She is always so positive and shares beautiful pictures as well as fun ideas. Thanks Tracy! Often I wonder what to write about or what to say. I admire those who can share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a positive way. I also love the ideas that are shared and hopefully one day I will do some of them. Last night, I cut material out for some place mats. I found this cute pattern using scrapes in one of my quilting magazines. Sense I am in need of place mats and I have tons of scrapes I thought I would try my hand at it. Now the trick is to get busy and sew! Maybe if I get them finished soon I will post a picture of them. I organized my scrapes and material last night also and was excited to see all the different colors! FUN!

Wow, a new year! I am looking forward to what lies ahead. The past year has brought many opportunities for growth and self reflection. I have been so lazy the past few days. It's a good thing I have a job to go to most of the time or I would really be lazy! I enjoyed having my family home for the holidays. On Christmas Eve Sariah was baptised. She was so beautiful, she absolutely glowed. Thanks everyone for making it a special day for her. After the baptism we had our family get together at the church gym. We missed having Richard's family with us. It just wasn't the same without them there but I understand. The children were very well behaved even though it was in the echo-y (not sure if that is a good word for it) gym. Nicole and her mom did a wonderful job organizing the food and decorations. They have been a tremendous help to me personally this past year. I know it has been hard for Nicole to be living in my home but I have enjoyed having them. We had our annual pictures taken and they were so cute. Thanks Catherine for taking them for us. May you all have a wonderful new year!
